Molecular biological and biochemical approach are taken to study roles of this helicase. Postdoctoral Scientist, Kings College London, U.K. - Study toxicity of amyloid β in Alzheimer’s disease. This project focused on studying function of lipid rafts of plasma membrane of neurons. Lipid rafts are known to be detergent insoluble domain and enriched with cholesterol, which contain many signaling proteins. In order to study roles of lipid rafts in amyloid-toxicity, optimization of depletion of cholesterol with statin in mouse cortical neuron was established. Under the condition, toxicity of amyloid β has been studied. For further investigation, a whole protein profile of lipid rafts treated with amyloid was studied by mass spectrometry.
